Example 1: £71,374 Debt Recovered for Manufacturer

A UK-based manufacturer and supplier of gifts and branded products had accumulated a ledger of unpaid invoices totalling £71,374, from a chain of garden centres.

The supplier retained specialist debt recovery solicitors, issued formal pre-action correspondence including a Letter Before Action, and followed promptly with court claim threats. Within a short timeframe the full amount was recovered, restoring cash-flow and enabling the business to focus on operations. Key lesson: early pre-legal intervention plus formal process can expedite recovery.

Example 2: £90,000 Construction Industry Debt Recovered in 3 Weeks

In the construction sector a contractor owed £90,000 for services rendered on a large project.

The invoice was nine months overdue. The creditor engaged a specialist firm, which carried out rigorous checks, followed debtors, escalated threats of insolvency proceedings, and secured payment within three weeks. Lesson: even older debts can be recovered swiftly if the debtor recognises professional action is imminent.

Example 3: £600,000 Recovered in 12 Days for Supply Business

A machine supply business in the South East had a ledger of approximately £800,000, of which two debtors accounted for nearly £600,000.

Existing efforts over five months had failed. A specialist debt-recovery firm took over, prioritised the top two debtors, took control of critical documentation and within 12 days secured full payment of £600,000. Lesson: focused action on key debtors, priority allocation and specialist expertise can lead to rapid recoveries.

Example 4: £41,500 Recovery from High-Profile Individual

A bespoke goods supplier invoiced a high-profile private customer for £36,500 and received no payment, with all communication ceasing.

The creditor instructed a commercial litigation team; after pre-action steps the team filed a claim incorporating accrued interest. The case resulted in full recovery of the debt plus interest and costs totalling about £41,500. Lesson: even individual debtors (not companies) can be effectively pursued via commercial litigation.

Example 5: Wholesale Industry – £40,000 Invoice Recovered in 7 Days

A wholesale client reported difficulty collecting a debt of £40,000, which was six months overdue.

A specialist recovery firm entered, triggered debtor response within days, and secured payment in just seven days. Lesson: older debts in high-risk sectors still recoverable quickly when action is taken by experienced practitioners.

Example 6: £490,000 Recovered in 11 Days – Construction Fit-Out

A UK-based fit-out contractor engaged in a major restaurant project waited over six months for payment. The debt recovery firm initiated urgent action: within 5 days they recovered £250,000, and within just 11 days secured the remaining £240,000 (plus interest and costs) — total £490,000.

Key lesson: Rapid escalation, legal pressure and focused recovery on large debts in critical cash-flow situations can deliver very fast results.

Example 7: £600,000 Recovered in 12 Days – Machine Supply Business

A machine supply business in the South East of England had a ledger of around £800,000, with two main debtors representing ~£600,000. A specialist recovery team took over and after obtaining necessary books provided by the company, recovered the full £600,000 in just 12 days.

Key lesson: Large-scale debt ledgers may succeed when priority is given to major debtors and full documentation is obtained swiftly.

Example 8: £40,000 Wholesale Debt Collected in 7 Days

A wholesale supplier faced one debtor owing £40,000 and six months of non-payment. A professional debt recovery service intervened and collected the full £40,000 within 7 days.

Key lesson: Even debts long overdue can be settled quickly when specialist action is taken and the debtor realises legal escalation is imminent.

Example 9: £155,414 Commercial Debt Recovered for Plant Hire Company

A plant hire company was owed £155,414.05, and a recovery agency collected £168,918.87 including interest and expenses. The client paid only ~2% of the total amount collected as fees.

Key lesson: Using a specialist agency may reduce cost to the creditor and increase net recovery, even when debts are high.

Example 10: £16,712 Recovered for Grocery Wholesaler – plus Late Payment Interest

A grocery wholesaler was owed £15,656.35 by a shop-owner; using recovery services they collected £16,712.69, which included £1,056.34 in late payment interest and recovery charges.

Key lesson: Statutory interest and fixed compensation under the Late Payment Act can be practical to claim, boosting recovery.
